The Alpinestars Honda SM5 Motocross Helmet in Gloss White, Blue, and Red is designed to provide top-tier protection and comfort for motocross enthusiasts. Constructed from a technologically advanced, impact-resistant thermoplastic, this helmet is available in three anatomical shell sizes and three EPS inner liner sizes. This combination offers six unique sizes, ensuring the best fit and maximum protection for riders of all shapes and sizes.
Safety is paramount with the Alpinestars Honda SM5 Helmet. It features an engineered raised area with padding that effectively reduces the forces transmitted to the collarbone. The patented visor release system ensures the visor is released with the correct pre-determined amount of force, regardless of the angle of impact. The helmet's lower shell volume has been revised to be around 3% wider, making it easier to put on and take off, while also improving impact management performance by 44% compared to the regular-speed threshold.
Meeting the new ECE 22.06 standard, the SM5 achieves a 44% better regular-speed impact rating, a 32% better low-speed, and a 31% better high-speed linear impact score than the previous standard. The multiple density inner liner ensures the correct density in the right areas for enhanced impact absorption. The redesigned chin bar features a new profile that includes a relief section raised to clear the collarbone, with a softer EPS liner and a flexible rubber compound to reduce the risk of collarbone injury.
Ventilation is maximized with multi-air inlets and exhaust ports, while the visor is designed to direct air into these ports for enhanced airflow. The helmet also includes ERS Emergency Release System cheek pads and hydration hose routing loops for easy hydration system mounting. The inner and outer surfaces are engineered to minimize the effects of oblique impacts, with a proprietary low friction surface on the inner EPS liner to combat rotational impact forces. Scoring 70% under the new rotational oblique impact rating regulation, the SM5 is a stellar choice for any serious motocross rider.

- For the new ECE 22.06 standard, the SM5 achieves a 44% better regular-speed impact rating compared to the current 33% figure, as well as a 32% better low-speed, and 31% better high-speed linear impact score than the prevailing standard

CONSTRUCTION
- The inner and outer surfaces are engineered to minimize the effects of oblique impacts. To help fight and mitigate those rotational impact forces, Alpinestars has designed a proprietary technology by creating a low friction surface on the inner surface of the EPS liner. For the ECE 22.06 standard, which now includes the rotational oblique impact rating, the SM5 scores 70% under the new regulation

Custom Charges
If you are ordering goods for delivery outside the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be paid by you. It is accepted by you that Honda Direct has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. Honda Direct recommends that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order. You will be the importer of record and responsible for any import VAT and duty that needs to be paid. In addition, any charges for import clearance will be paid by you, the customer. Refunds of any returned order will be of items, not the services incurred.
Honda Direct use Royal Mail for smaller items and DHL for larger items (UK Shipping only)
Royal Mail deliveries are typically sent by Royal Mail 48 so will normally arrive within a maximum of 2-3 working days. DHL deliveries are typically made the next working day, but some remote areas may require an extra day. Express deliveries use either Royal Mail Tracked 24 or DHL depending on the items ordered. All in stock orders placed up until 9.00am are dispatched the same working day. Any in stock orders placed after 9.00am may not be dispatched until the next working day.

Returns Information
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded to your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
